SwissMan is currently working on one of the smallest commercial wood pellet production facilities in the USA.
The wood pellets will be produced at a small hardwood sawmill in Missouri. The production targets a maximum output of 10,000 tons of wood pellets a year, catering to retailers and co-ops in the greater St. Louis area. One key to be competitive in the market of commodities such as wood pellets is to stay away from transporting the raw material and minimize the trucking of packaged goods. With this in mind, SwissMan approaches any wood pelleting project with one core theme: Locally grown, locally procured, locally used.
