SwissMan Pricing, Education, & Career
Most engineering projects require some basic information before any pricing information can be handed out. The initial consultation is always free of charge.
Project types and related cost:
- Process engineering $85 per hour, plus travel and expenses.
- Sawmill and logging services are $75 per hour and include all necessary machinery and equipment. Additional personnel is $40 per hour.
- Timber Frame CAD Drawings are $45 per hour and include digital sets of drawings. Not included in this service are any structural engineering costs. Paper prints are charged at cost.
Simon Gnehm founded SwissMan in 2005. Simon grew up in Switzerland and as a teenager learned the craft of timber framing through the Swiss apprenticeship program. Shortly after graduating from this program he moved to the US. Though timber framing is not nearly as widespread in North America as it is in Europe, there are a fair number of companies practicing the craft. Simon had little to no difficulties finding work and somehow ended up working in many different positions throughout the industry, until he got the itch to further his education. Simon attended the University of Applied Sciences in Biel, Switzerland. He graduated with a degree in wood engineering, majoring in process engineering.
